PC4426MODBK

PC4426MODBK is a single-component, solvent-based primer designed to maximize the anchorage of subsequently applied adhesives to various surfaces, including metal, glass, concrete, ceramics, select plastics, and most rigid or semi-rigid substrates. Widely used across the Mining, Mechanical Rubber, Plastic Goods and Aeronautic industries, PC4426MODBK meets strict primer requirements for diverse applications. Common uses include treating metals for concrete tanks, conveyor belts, vats, and pipes before applying adhesive bonded protective sheet liners. It is also used for priming plastic radomes for conductive, anti-static, and rain erosion protective coatings.

Surface Preparation

All application surfaces must be clean, dry, structurally sound, and free from grease, oil, mold release agents, loose scale, etc.

  • Remove such contaminants by surface abrasion followed by an MEK solvent wash. Allow to dry thoroughly.
  • Neutralize new or otherwise highly alkaline concrete surfaces by thorough pre-washing with 5% Muriatic Acid, followed by equally thorough water flushing.
Product Application

Apply a single coat of PC4426 to all prepared application surfaces. Allow to dry for a minimum of 1 hour prior to applying Adhesive/Coating. To maximize performance, allow a 24-hours prior to applying adhesive, while protecting the primed surface with a suitable cover sheet (e.g., polyethylene film).
