Surface preparation:
- All surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from frost, grease, and loose materials.
- When cleaning contaminated substrates, HS Butyl recommends using propan-2-ol (IPA) and allowing it to dry before applying the butyl tape.
Application:
- Apply directly from the reel onto one surface and press along its entire length to ensure good initial adhesion.
- Remove the backing paper, position the other surface onto the tape, and push firmly to seal across the joint.
- Product Application
- For sealing joints where the tape will be in contact with potable water (see also the technical data sheet for 0361 Water Tank Sealing Strip).
- For bonding and sealing watershedders to car doors.
