Surface preparation

All surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from frost, grease, and loose materials.

When cleaning contaminated substrates, HS Butyl recommends using propan-2-ol (IPA) and allowing it to dry before applying the butyl tape.
Application

Apply directly from the reel onto one surface and press along its entire length to ensure good initial adhesion.

Remove the backing paper, position the other surface onto the tape, and push firmly to seal across the joint.
