Applications & Uses

- Applications
- Application Area
- Product Uses
- FAST 2K™ DECK POST ANCHOR material is used as stabilizing backfill material around embedded posts, as an alternate to the concrete described in IBC Section 1807.3.3.
- FAST 2K™ DECK POST ANCHOR can also be used as a footing, to transfer downward axial load from the embedded post to the soil.
- For structures regulated under the IRC, FAST 2K™ DECK POST ANCHOR may be used when an engineered design is performed in accordance with IRC Section R301.1.3.
- Used for deck post installation, highway sign post installation, pole barn post installation.
- Limitations
- For applications more than 1 story or greater than 590 sq ft (55 m2); where the structure supports a roof; is attached to another structure; or where constant hydrostatic pressure is expected, the design must be carried out by a registered professional engineer.
- Installation requires excavation below the frost line. The required diameter of the hole to transfer the load from the post to the surrounding ground will depend on the expected load carrying capacity of the structure to be supported.
- While the FAST 2K™ DECK POST ANCHOR has been found to not provide a food source to termites, local regulations regarding removal of infested soil must be followed.
- The product should not come in contact with gasoline or other chemicals that have not been evaluated.

Safety & Health
- Clean Up
- Using a soft cloth and mineral spirits, carefully remove any composite smudges from surfaces of the post that are visible (above ground) as well as from tools before composite dries.
- After the composite dries, it can only be removed by carefully cutting it with a sharp knife. Be careful as this may damage the post surface.
- Should some of the composite get on your skin, wipe away, then wash the area immediately while product is still wet.
- Should the product cure on your skin, apply liberal amounts of hand lotion to the area, multiple times a day, and it will peel away after 2 - 3 days.
- If the composite gets into your hair or beard, coat the area thoroughly with hair conditioner and leave it for 10 minutes then comb and wash the product out.
