UltraShield EMB 25 is a single-component, flexible, cold-applied, bitumen-modified acrylic-based waterproofing membrane. It is specially designed from a blend of special resin and rubber, reinforced with water-repelling fillers, mineral stabilizers, and a gelling agent. UltraShield EMB 25 is a highly elastic product that cures to a rubber-like membrane capable of withstanding severe expansion, contraction, and deck movements. It is highly resistant to oxidation, UV light, and ozone due to the unique additives used in its formulation, ensuring it does not crack.

Product Applications

UltraShield EMB 25 is used as waterproofing and protective coating of the following structures:

  • Concrete roofs both flat and sloped
  • Terraces, balconies and domes
  • Masonry and concrete walls
  • Bathrooms and basements
  • Metal profile roofs and asbestos roofs
  • Polyurethane foam slabs and polyester built up roofs
  • Tunnels, underpasses & concrete bridge decks

UltraShield EMB 25 has the unique property of adapting itself over the irregular contours of the deck and forming a waterproof and impervious blanket.

Application Procedure

Surface Preparation: The substrate on which the coating will be applied has to be cleaned thoroughly of all contaminants which may affect the adhesion. All major repair works needs to be carried out with a suitable repair material prior to the application.

Priming: Apply a primer coat on the concrete surface using a brush or roller to seal the pores and stabilize the surface by diluting UltraShield EMB 25 with water (75:25 ratio). This will
help in boosting adhesion for the top coat. Allow it to dry completely before applying the acrylic coating.

Application: Apply each coat of UltraShield EMB 25 at a coverage rate of 1 kg / m2 to attain a Dry Film Thickness of 0.50mm.
For best results, apply the coating with a brush, roofing broom or a squeegee. The application of the succeeding coats shall be carried out after the first coat dries off, after a waiting period of at least 8-10 hours.

Curing: The coating shall be cured fully for 7 days to achieve its full mechanical properties.
