Surface Preparation: All work surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, debris, oils, loose and/or embedded gravel, un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membrane and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is not sound or is uneven.
- All work surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dirt, dust, debris, oils, loose gravel, un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membrane and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is not sound.
- Brush, spray, or roll Millennium Universal Primer over the entire prepared surface. Applies in one coat. Allow primer to completely dry. Remove all heavy or puddled areas to ensure thorough drying. Drying time will vary based on temperature and relative humidity.
- After primer has completely dried, apply Millennium Adhesives in accordance with current product application instructions.
- Basic Use
- Millennium Universal Primer is specially formulated for use as a film former that will enhance adhesion to most surfaces. It is approved for use over the following roof types:
- Built-up systems
- Modified Bitumen
- Metal
- Millennium Universal Primer is intended to bind fine particulate matter such as dust on a gravel surfaced built-up roof or asphalt particles on a crazed or “alligatored” roof surface.
Note: Application of Millennium Universal Primer is not a substitute for proper removal of loose gravel or debris from the substrate by vacuuming and/or power washing.
- Millennium Universal Primer is specially formulated for use as a film former that will enhance adhesion to most surfaces. It is approved for use over the following roof types:
- Limitations
- Millennium Universal Primer should not be applied to a wet surface, all surfaces must be dry prior to application.
- Millennium Universal Primer should not be applied to PVC roof membranes.
- Millennium Universal Primer should not be applied when material or surface temperatures are below 40°F (4°C).
- Millennium Universal Primer should not be applied over silicone base coatings.
- Roof decks exhibiting severe corrosion should be tested in accordance with ANSI/SPRI IA-1 2010 to ensure suitability for bonded recover applications.
