- Preparation and Application Information
-
Material Preparation
- Stir well. Do not thin. No need to prime aluminum or galvanized metal. Apply only to clean, dry surfaces. Keep container closed when not in use to prevent solvent evaporation.
Application
- Insulation Attachment
- Use a clean paintbrush. Apply Foster® Stic-Safe® Adhesive to the metal surface at 250 sq. ft/gal. (6.1 m2/l) using full coverage. Press insulation into place, making sure complete contact is made with applied adhesive. Bond may be made within 0 to 15 minutes open time.
- Lap and Tape Sealing
- Use a good quality paintbrush. Apply Stic-Safe Adhesive uniformly to the foil side or underside of overlap at 75 sq. ft./gal (1.8 m2/l), allow adhesive to set until very tacky (normally 2 to 10 minutes), and press lap or tape firmly into place.
Clean Up
- Use a solvent such as chlorinated solvent (non-flammable) or mineral spirits (flammable) for cleaning brushes and equipment.
