Adcobond AT-2 is a high-strength acrylic tape with a foam core, designed for superior bonding between various substrates. This tape boasts a uniform, high-tack acrylic adhesive on both surfaces and effectively adheres to clean, dry, and oil-free substrates. It excels in weather resistance, maintains adhesion even at sub-zero temperatures, and remains resistant to hardening or brittleness with age. Its flexibility allows it to conform to intricate shapes, making it a versatile choice for various applications.

General Application Instructions
  1. Substrate Evaluation: Acrylic adhesive is suitable for bonding avariety of substrates, including many plastic composites, sealedwood, and metals. Low surface energy materials such aspolyethylene, polypropylene, silicones and PTFE can be difficult tobond to. Thorough evaluation is recommended when bonding toany questionable surface. An adhesion promoter (primer) for usewith pressure sensitive acrylic adhesives may be necessary tofacilitate proper bonding, and is available from H.B. Fuller.
  2. Preparation of Substrate: The substrate to be bonded should becleaned with an appropriate solvent, preferably isopropanol (IPA).The acrylic adhesive backed part should be applied within 15minutes of cleaning. To ensure removal of all contaminants withoutleaving any residue, use a clean, lint-free wiping cloth or disposablewipe. Never use recycled rags. Other solvents such as hexane, heptane, or methanol may be suitable for cleaning varioussubstrates after thorough evaluation. The substrate must becompletely dry through evaporation of the solvent with radiantheat, hot air dryers, or with time before bonding acrylic adhesivebacked parts.
  3. Adhesive Promoter Application-If necessary: Apply the AP-1Adhesion Promoter to the substrate(s) either with a lint-freeapplicator or foam brush. Apply the Adhesion Promoter in a “wet”laydown thickness range of 1-8 mils. Allow the Adhesion Promoterto dry approximately 5 minutes. Don’t touch the AdhesionPromoter.
  4. Application of Adhesive Backed Part to the Substrate: Removethe protective release liner from the acrylic tape immediately priorto applying the part to be bonded, being careful not to contaminatethe acrylic adhesive. Apply within 15 minutes after surfacepreparation. Apply the part to be bonded without entrapping airbetween the tape and the substrate with a recommendedminimum application pressure of 15 pounds per inch of tape widthto achieve adhesive to substrate contact and maximum bond.
