- Application Instructions
- Ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean and free from grease dirt and other contaminants.
- Apply the adhesive to one surface of the glue line. Apollo recommends using a DeVilbiss JGV-562 gun fitted with an FX fluid tip/needle and a 777 air-cap. An atomising pressure of 70-90 psi and a fluid pressure of 10-15 psi is required.
- The amount required will vary according to the porosity/ smoothness of the substrate but will normally be in the range of 30-60gms per square meter.
- Once the adhesive has been applied the substrate should be assembled and pressed within 15 minutes (at 20°C). A pressure 5-10psi should be sufficient, using a platen or other type of press. Substrate should be pressed for at least 45 minutes (at 20°C), depending on ambient temperature and other atmospheric conditions.
- When using a heated press place the seat cover in the press and consolidate with heat and pressure until the adhesive has cured.
NB: Condensation of moisture on the surface of the substrate may occur under conditions of high humidity, which may result in an unsatisfactory bond.
